The School of Materials Science and Engineering offers certificates in biomaterials, composites, and nanotechnology. Students may fulfill the certificate requirements by taking twelve credit hours* of approved courses. By appropriate choice of technical and free electives, only one course outside of those required for the B.S. MSE degree is required for any certificate. *BIOL 1510 is required for the Biomaterials certificate. Since this is a four-credit hour course, thirteen hours are often taken by MSE students who obtain this certificate.
